Terms of use.
Last updated 11 September 2026. Using this site means you agree to what's below.
The service
wordtospeech is a free text-to-speech tool with timed subtitle export. There's no account, no paywall, no watermark, and no revenue model — it's provided as-is, for free, with no guarantee it will always be available, fast, or unchanged. It may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time, for any reason.
Acceptable use
The synthesis endpoint is free and unauthenticated, which is a privilege that depends on people not abusing it. Requests are capped at 5,000 characters and rate limited per IP address; don't attempt to script around either limit. Don't use the service to generate audio impersonating a real, identifiable person without their consent, or for any unlawful purpose.
Voice licensing
Neural voices are licensed by whoever trained them, and this service isn't in a position to grant rights it doesn't hold. If your use is commercial, check the licensing terms that apply to the voice you picked, or choose a provider that grants commercial rights explicitly and in writing. That's a genuine limitation on what this tool can promise, not a formality — see the FAQ for the same answer in more detail.
What you submit
You're responsible for the text you submit and what you do with the audio and subtitles it produces. Don't submit content you don't have the right to convert to speech.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Synthesis is not guaranteed to be accurate, available, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, wordtospeech and its operator aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Disputes
If something's actually wrong, the fastest resolution is email — contact@wordtospeech.com. These terms don't name a specific governing jurisdiction; if a provision here turns out to be unenforceable wherever you are, the rest of these terms still stand.
