What's collected, and what isn't.

The tool itself
There's no account and no sign-up, so nothing you submit is tied to an identity. The text you paste and the voice/rate/pitch you choose are sent to a synthesis service to generate audio and word timings. The result may be cached — keyed by a hash of the exact request, not by who sent it — so an identical request doesn't hit the upstream service twice. A cached entry is content, not a record of a visitor.
Your IP address is used briefly, server-side, for two things: a short-window rate limit (to stop automated abuse of a free, unauthenticated endpoint) and a daily character-total cap. Both are counters, not logs — the daily counter auto-expires after 36 hours, and neither is linked to anything else about you.
Your last-used voice is remembered in your browser's own localStorage. It never leaves your device.
The blog
Article pages track an aggregate view count and a search index, both derived from the published posts. Neither is tied to individual visitors — a view count is a number that goes up, not a list of who looked.
Cookies and analytics
The site loads Google Tag Manager, which can in turn load Google Analytics, Google Ads, and/or Meta and TikTok's advertising pixels. All of it is gated behind Google's Consent Mode, set to denied by default: nothing in that category runs until you actively accept the banner, and declining leaves the default denial in place. If and when active, these services can receive standard technical data — IP address, browser and device information, and which pages you viewed — under their own privacy policies:
This site does not sell personal information, and doesn't have anything resembling a customer list to sell.
Infrastructure
The site and its synthesis backend run on Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data (IP address, request headers) to serve every request on the internet — that's true of any site on any host, described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Your choices
Reject or accept the consent banner at any time — your browser remembers the choice, and you can clear it by clearing this site's storage. If applicable law gives you rights over data held about you — access, correction, deletion — email contact@wordtospeech.com and it'll be honoured to the extent it applies; given there's no account system, there is rarely anything to delete beyond a cached response or an analytics record at a third party listed above.
Children
This site isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
This page may be updated as the site changes — most likely if a new analytics or advertising integration is added. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
